Beaumont: The Entertainment Center of Southeast Texas

Beaumont is the county seat of Jefferson County, Texas. Located on the Neches River and about 90 miles from Houston, Beaumont is the 24th most populous city in the state of Texas. Beaumont’s early history was centered around the development of the lumber, farming, and port industries. Along with Port Arthur and Orange, Beaumont forms the Golden Triangle, a major industrial area on the Gulf Coast. Beaumont is home to a multitude of museums, historic buildings, and performing arts centers such as the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, the Tyrrell Historical Library, and the Jefferson Theatre. Other points of interest include Beaumont Botanical Gardens, Tyrrell Park and Cattail Marsh, Neches River Adventures, Ford Park, and Downtown Beaumont. Downtown Beaumont is the center of business, government, and nighttime entertainment. The downtown area features the Crockett Street Entertainment Complex with recreational options from dancing and live music to dining and drinking.
